Breakfast Buffet (Bennefit Breakfast)

Riverside Baptist Church will be holding a Public Breakfast Buffet on Saturday, May 4th, 2014 from 7:15 to 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Area. The home cooked menu includes scrambled eggs, bacon, potato, baked beans, pancakes, juice, beverage and southern style Biscuits & Gravy. Take outs available. Walk/Run to Help End Youth Homelessness (Fundraiser)
Time: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Location: Waterville and Skowhegan

On Saturday, May 3rd United Way of Mid-Maine (UWMM) will be hosting two walk-a-thons, one in Waterville and one in Skowhegan for the Youth Homelessness Initiative. UWMM helps to meet students’ basic needs to assure that they stay in school. 100% of the funds raised will go to the Youth Homelessness Initiative. The Walk/Run to Help End Youth Homelessness will take place on Saturday, May 3rd at New Balance on Walnut Street in Skowhegan and at Alfond Youth Center on North Street in Waterville. Both will have registration beginning at 9:00 am and the Walk will begin at 10:00. Each walk is less than 3 miles. Registration forms, sponsor sheets and route maps are available on United Way of Mid-Maine’s website at http://www.unitedwaymidme.org/walk-help-end-youth-homelessness-1.

A Celebration of Spring and Business Promotion all in ONE DAY!!!The Chamber is pleased to say that Jonathan Parker, from the TV hit series "NORTHWOODS LAW" will be coming to the Trade Show to answer questions and sign autographs! Also, the raffle prize will be a T-shirt signed by all the cast members.We have also arranged for John Ford, Retired Waldo County Sheriff & Maine State Game Warden, and Mark Nickerson, Retired Maine State Trooper to come and answer questions as well. Also coming: Newport Fire & Rescue & the fire truck; Penobscot County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Van; Sebasticook Valley Ambulance; Maine Forest Rangers & Smokey the Bear; Red Cross Blood Drive; Face Painting for kids; Crafters; Food all day; Farmer's Market & Healthy Living & Foods; plus more in the works!! For those that just want to come & browse & have fun, admission is $2 for adults, or FREE if you bring a donation to the School Food Pantry!!

Greater Pittsfield Area Kiwanis Club Annual Bike Rodeo (Community Family Event)

The Greater Pittsfield Area Kiwanis Club will hold its Annual Bike Rodeo in conjunction with the Pittsfield Recycling Committee’s Bike Swap / Drop Off and Bud’s Shop ‘N Save Customer Appreciation Day. The Key Club will guide children through a bike rodeo course designed to teach bike safety skills. The Kiwanis Club will provide for free checkups for children’s bicycles; free bike helmet and bike safety materials while supplies last. The Recycling Committee will have a Recycling Corner for a Bike Swap for citizens who have bikes and want to swap with other bike owners. These fun items will be held in conjunction with Bud’s Shop ‘N Save Customer Appreciation Day at the Plaza. Bud’s will be celebrating the fact they have been doing business in Pittsfield for 55 years. Bud’s will have some 55 cent specials. In addition, the store will be giving out 3 $55 dollar gift cards for door prizes. A hamburger and hotdog BBQ will be held outside Bud’s to benefit the Relay for Life.

The Cony Class of 2014 & KV Federal Credit Union are joining together to present a magical fundraiser that will benefit both Project Graduation & End Hunger. The event takes place on Saturday, May 3rd at 7pm in the Cony Auditorium. Dennis Watkins is an award winning magician & entertainer who will leave you stunned with his illusions, mind reading & theatrical entertainment!
