Low Lily Concert (Live Concert)

Location: Unity College Center for the Performing Arts

The string and vocal trio Low Lily (formerly Annalivia) explores the roots and branches of American folk music with traditional influences and modern inspiration that weaves together a unique brand of acoustic music. Liz Simmons (vocals and guitar) Flynn Cohen (vocals, guitar, and mandolin) and Lissa Schneckenburger (vocals and fiddle) are masterful players with deep relationships to traditional music styles ranging from bluegrass, to Irish, Scottish, New England, and Old Time Appalachian sounds. When you combine this with stellar composition skills and inventive arrangements you get music that is rooted yet contemporary.

On Friday, Sept 9th from 12-5 The Humane Society of Waterville at 100 Webb Road will be hosting a Clear the Shelter Adoption Event. Adult Cats $25, Senior Cats fee waived; Most dogs $49-$99; Transports $50 off; Kittens $99; Pocket Pets $5-$10; Birds $10-$20.All cats/dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and dewormed. Cats/dogs tested for disease. Dogs are microchipped.

Augusta Boys and Girls club for teens 5k (Benefit 5K)

On Saturday, Sept 10th, Augusta Boys and Girls Club for Teens will present a 5k from 10-12 at the Capitol Park in Augusta. Race will be along the rail trail. Overall winner will receive a pair of round trip tickets from Augusta to Boston from Cape Air. 1 and 2 kilometer kids fun run to follow. Each race will receive a superhero cape, temporary tattoo and a medal. Awards for the best costume and 1st and 2nd place men's and women's categories. Little Pink Houses of Hope Fundraiser (Fundraiser)

On Friday, September 16th from 7-12 Little Pink Houses of Hope will be hosting fundraiser at Le Club Calumet in Augusta. 7 - 8 will be social hour with dancing from 8-12 with DJ Matt James! Raffles will include quilts, paint night, Lisa's Restaurant, MA Haskell Fuel Co., 50/50 just to name a few.Little Pink Houses of Hope is a non-profit organization that helps families going/dealing/struggling through breast cancer. They promote Breast Cancer recovery by offering opportunities for you and your family to recover, relax, and celebrate life. It's one week where you don't have to be in a hospital, the doctors, no chemo or radiation. It's one week where you can be a family, have fun and meet other families going the same ordeal. It costs only $583 to send a family for one week! Folks can make donations on the above website and please comment that it is for the Fundraiser headed by Michelle Glidden who was a 2015 Little Pink retreat member.

Spuyten Duyvil Concert (Live Concert)

In concert, the six-piece Hudson Valley-based band charges the air with traditional jug band energy, soaring vocals, and Chicago-style blues harp. Their appearance follows a summer touring schedule that includes main stage sets at Israel's Jacob's Ladder Festival, Vermont's Roots On The River Festival, Caramoor's American Roots Music Festival, Massachusetts' New Bedford Folk Festival, Long Island’s Great South Bay Festival and The Philadelphia Folk Festival.
