We're offering an updated version of the "Eight Planets and Counting" program! Humanity's knowledge of the solar system has changed dramatically within the last few years. As we know the International Astronomical Union has demoted Pluto, but astronomers have also found an array of other bodies, called "Trans-Neptunian Objects." The omni-dome "Eight Planets and Counting" program guides you through the solar system: from our parent star, the Sun, out to the realm beyond Neptune. Along the way, we'll visit each of the eight planets in turn, we'll explore the Moon, and we'll fly through the asteroid belt. Join us for this fantastic full dome odyssey through the solar system!

Bangor Ballet invites you to join us for our annual Evening at the Arts, with this year's them of "Cross Pollination". The event takes place at the Gracie Theatre at Husson University. Former Bangor Ballet dancer Riley Watts of Glenburn, currently dancing with the Forsythe Ballet in Germany, will talk about his experiences and perform an improvisation. Former dancer Katrina Smedal of Brooksville, currently teaching for Portland Ballet, has created a short ballet 'Winter" that will be performed. The program will include other choreography by artistic director Ivy Clear-Forrest and company member Maya Bryan and a contemporary piece with original music by Heinrick Snyder, choreographed by Cassie Pillsbury and the dancers. Brown Memorial United Methodist Church continues their very popular seasonal Turkey Pie Suppers on Saturday, January 12 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The menu includes a full salad bar, all meat turkey pie, potatoes, peas, carrots, gravy, cranberry sauce, homemade rolls, beverages and homemade dessert pies, cakes and puddings. The price has not increased from past years, $7.50 for adults, $4.00 for child under 12 years. Suppers will be held each second Saturday of the month until May. Takeouts are available and the hall is easily accessable for the handicapped.
