The beautifully written stage play "On Golden Pond" by Ernest Thompson will be performed on July 10th, 11 and 12th at 7:00 pm and July 13th at 2:00 pm at Sparrows Nest Theater at 1114 West Mills Rd, , Industry, ME. This funny, poignant play is about Norman Thayer, a cranky 80-year-old retired professor and his wife Ethel, who are making their annual pilgrimage to their New England summer cottage. Their solitude is interrupted when the couple's daughter Chelsea arrives with her fiance Bill and his son in tow. Dr. Christopher Smith of Farmington will star in the role of Norman Thayer alongside Valerie Huebner in the role of Ethel Thayer. The Great Central Maine Everything That Flies Fly-In (Community Family Event)

Location: Pittsfield Municipal Airport, 176 Harrison Street, Pittsfield, Maine

Calling everyone who likes airplanes! The Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 736 will hold their Annual Fly-in “The Great Central Maine Everything That Flies Fly In” at the Pittsfield Municipal Airport in conjunction with the 42nd Egg Festival on Saturday, July 19, 2014. There will be events all day starting with the arrival of amazing experimental planes that everyone will want to examine to see how they fly! The flight line of aircraft will be on display most of the day. There will be powered parachutes, utltralites and trikes as well as remote controlled aircraft. Young Eagles Flights will be available for youngsters 8 to 17 years of age free of charge from 9 am to 1 pm so that they can learn about airplanes and airports. A parent or legal guardian must register the Young Eagle for the ride. Would you like to charter an airplane ride? Airplane rides will be available from 9 am to 4 pm. This will be a very large fly-in with a lot of planes on display.

The lighthouse can be rented for the night by people that are looking for an adventure. With four beds, a wrap-around couch, two ocean kayaks and a propane grill, Goose Rocks is the perfect getaway for outdoor lovers. Help us further preserve and restore such a wonderful place and come spend a night or two in a working lighthouse!
